YMCA youth and Government develops cause-driven leaders through programs and experiences that build civic skills, character and confidence.

Whether they are learning how to write a bill about an issue of importance in their community, serving as a student committee chair, leading a respectful conversation in their classroom, participating in our model state legislature, or learning about global issues and practicing the art of compromise, YMCA Youth and Government program participants receive a well-rounded, high-quality civic learning experience. Our proven program outcomes not only prepare young people for informed, engaged participation in civic and democratic life but they also help young people gain the skills needed to succeed in school and work: critical thinking, collaboration, communications, leadership and self-initiative.

With your help, YMCA Youth And government can:

• Offer financial assistance so that no one is turned away due to financial need.
• Continuously evaluate and improve our youth training and supports during the school year and at the annual legislative confernce.
• Provide scholarships to the annual YMCA Conference on National Affairs to encourage engagement in issues in our communities and our world.
• Expand our program delivery to populations or parts of the state that have been underrepresented in the past.
